LG KF510 - Future phone

LG KF510

LG KF510

13 February 2008
Written by David Hall

LG have displayed their latest slim-slider, the KF510, at the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona this week. The KF510 was announced earlier this month but the WMC marks its first public appearance.

The KF510 slides in at a mere 10.9mm thick, and sports a tempered glass front held in place by a metal frame. Two colour variations of the handset will be offered when it is marketed later this year: Stardust Dark Grey and Sunset Red.

Unlike the other two new handsets displayed by LG in Spain this week, the KF510 relies (mostly) on age-old physical keys for its operation. The LCD is not a touch-screen, but below it are several touch-sensitive keys (think Chocolate for basic navigation & operation). Hidden in bottom section of the handset is the slide-out numerical keypad for messaging and inputting numbers.

Additional details on the KF510 are fairly scarce at the moment, but LG are saying that the handset has a “multi-function camera and MP3 player.” The camera is rumoured to be a 3mpx module, and with LG’s use of “multi-function,” chances are it will be video and still image capable. Rumour suggests the handset has a microSD card port for memory expansion.

The KF510 will be available from March in most worldwide markets.
