‘No Plans’ freetime? Well, nearly… - What's New?
15 October 2002
Vodafone’s newest promotion for its mobile users may be worth more than just words in your TXT (or SMS) messages!
Just ask Jet Boy and Jet Girl, Vodafone’s mascots for their latest competition offering. (Or you could also ask iMobile’s Angus Leung, who managed to win a prize already!)
Between 6th October and 1st December, if you send SMS messages using your Vodafone mobile service, you will have the chance to win one of 8,000 prizes offered by the mobile network provider every week. The list of prizes include Sony Ericsson T68i handsets, Sony Clié PDAs, Trek 4300 mountain bikes, Olympus C300 digital cameras, Greater Union movie tickets, Sanity CD vouchers and Vodafone airtime credits.
Each SMS you send will also go into a draw for the chance to win the grand prize - a trip to the South Pacific with five of your friends, island-hopping with your own on-call luxury jet (and pilot of course) for a whole week! The prize is valued at $120,380 and includes food, accommodation and spending money.
Do I need to sign up? Actually, each time you send a TXT, you will be automatically entered into the prize draw - and have the opportunity to win one of those weekly prizes as well!
But just remember you’re actually paying 25 cents (including GST) each time you enter the draw - simply because that’s how much you are paying for each SMS message :)
